SoundCloud attempt take 2

My first attempt at putting a soundcloud player in my blog seems to work for everyone else, but I cannot see it, so this is a new post where I will again attempt to put a soundcloud player/song into one of my posts.

Well still no joy. I also tried in a couple test blogs I have an no joy there either.

Oh well, f*ck it. I will likely never use soundcloud for real anyway.

As irritating as it is, I can see it, so post away. :/

Grooveshark also has a “Post to WordPress.com” option.

I’m using OS X 10.5.8 as well and I can see it… this time the SoundCloud player has little thumbnails at the bottom.

That’s odd and I can’t think of what might cause it… in fact, now that I remember, I’ve had this kind of problems at work too. For instance, when I go to scribd.com, their version of FlashPaper won’t display; Veoh player won’t display either, and that’s that I have the latest flash players install on all of my browsers there…

Those thumbnails are links to comments on the track at soundcloud as I understand it. In the other one I stripped out all the settings and just went with the basic player. Since I can see and use the player at soundcloud, the basic player is as I see it not an issue. It is something between soundcloud, wordpress and my computer.

I just fired up my PC laptop and with Safari, IE8 and FF on XP, I can see the players just fine, so it isn’t a problem with my firewall on my DSL modem.

It has to be a setting on my Mac, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what it would be. No browser installed on my Mac will show the video. Safari, Fx, SeaMonkey, Opera 9… none of them. I am on the latest version of flash, 10.0.32.18, with all browsers.

I can’t see it; using Firefox 3.5.2 was also not visible in Safari 3.2.1 . I am at New Delhi.

Correction. It is visible in both after some time. It seems it takes time in loading but it is more time than the YouTube videos take in loading on blog pages!

    I heard it too! :)

On the off chance things were just painfully slow, I left a window to my blog open for half-hour and still no player.

I can only figure that Matt does not like me :)

Yeah blame it on Matt, LOL!

I have yet to use it; I have uploaded MP3 on Archives.org though on my blog.

Every dark cloud [or soundcloud for that matter] has a silver lining; I am sure you will find it sooner or later!

P.S.: The self-professed “geek” used a smiley by the way! ;)

I had to put the smiley face after the Matt comment because when I don’t he always seems to show up to say, “why wouldn’t I like you?” or something like that.

maybe it was a bug…. I had a problem on my self hosted blog… I coldn’t manage widgits… the drag and drop function wouldn’t work … I was just selecting text…. and after a day without any fixing… no installs, no nothing … on the same browser same computer it started to work agen

Still not working fine for me as I still cannot see the soundcloud players in the two posts. Both Safari and Firefox report there are errors in the code that wordpress is using. I’ve contacted staff and been back and forth with them on it multiple times. They claim they can see them just fine supposedly using the same set up as I have (OS and browsers).

Matt sees all. And he likes you just fine. It’s ME he doesn’t like!

Superfluous at this point, but I see the Soundcloud thing just fine.
