Returning to the blogger errors issue

In a recent post I shared with you that Bugger Blogger had a lot of validation errors, even on a brand new blog with only one plain text post.

Doing some searching over at blogger in their help group section, I found this thread which suggests this has been an issue since at least the end of 2006. I’ll wait a second for you to reread that and let it soak in…………. Soaked now? You did notice that that is about two and a half, (2.5) years, right? Good, let’s move on.

So apparently the Google is a little slow at fixing things over at the old Bugger Blogger (notice my mastery in the art of understatement?), or they were too busy polishing the brass door knob they call Chrome, or tweaking nonsense noncents adcents adsense, or perhaps they simply do not care.

Boggled mind? I haz it!

[Edit: I thought I would add a quote from one of the posters on the Blogger help group thread I referenced. My emphasis.]

I can’t imagine that they’re unaware that their code causes HUNDREDS of validation errors. Yet the new system requires valid xhtml templates or it’s rejected. And I know of no validator which will validate the templates with their new xml tags in place, nor the final online blog. Makes things pretty rough. The service is free, but that’s no excuse to suck. They actually take things that work and break them- the images for example. They keep moving people who have had blogs for years to the new Blogger, knowing damn well many of them will have serious problems. When you’ve worked on something for years, it’s important to you- free service or not. They are calling it almost ready to lose it’s beta status when it’s plagued with problems, FEW OF THEM “KNOWN.”
