It seems the WordPress.com overlords, have updated all themes that did not display tags on the posts so that they now show them, supposedly for consistency from theme to theme.
The problem here is that many out there chose the theme they were using because it did not show the tags, and of course, the overlords did not give the blogger any way to turn this new “feature” off.
I’m sure this is just for consistency, and has nothing to do with furthering the .com link farm global tag scheme.
